Eel Pie Island Museum, Twickenham

Upcycled diorama. Created in an old fish tin, this is my original drawing of Eel Pie Island Museum.

'The history of Eel Pie Island tells a fascinating and varied story. From the role it played in the RnB boom of the 60s to its historical boatyards, maverick characters and pioneering spirit of inventive creativity, these fabulous stories are told in the museum, not just on its walls, but also from the first-hand experience of some of its superb volunteers.'

The artwork has been layered using paper to build up a 3D picture inside the tin. The background is a handprinted watercolour sky. My mini building has a tiny 3d roof with the museum name on it and bunting. The original ring pull has been riveted into the back of the tin to make it easy to hang.

Each piece is individually made so it will differ slightly from the photograph. Size 10.5cm cm x 6 cm across.
