Teddington Studios

Teddington Studios

Giclee Print. 10 x 12 mounted. Limited edition no 25/114 - no 28-114 in stock.

Teddington Studios became the main production hub for the ITV franchisees ABC Weekend TV and Thames Television. Shows filmed there included The Benny Hill Show, Reginald Perrin, The Morecambe & Wise Show and more recently Lee Mack's Not Going Out and Open All Hours.

The facility started life in a greenhouse at Weir House adjacent to the site, which is still there today, but dedicated facilities were developed in 1910 and expanded to include post production facilities and named Teddington Studios Limited in 1931.

I drew the building and the blue plaques that were mounted on the wall in spring 2014. Pinewood's lease on the Studios had expired and the studios were to be closed and later demolished to be turned into housing. Some of the plaques were stolen off the wall and the rest have gone missing since demolition.

My Limited Edition number of 114 reflects the number of years film work was produced on the site from it's earliest conception in 1900.
